I registered for my baby shower through shop.com to help out a friend with her shop.com/market America business and did not receive items that were ordered except for 1...and that item arrived damaged. I called right away and asked for a replacement/exchange and was told that I could be issued a refund...but hello it's a gift registry so I didn't order the item for myself.
It took 4 emails and calls to finally get nothing and know nothing. As for the items that were ordered off of my registry but not received by me...they said I would need to contact my baby shower guests, find out who ordered what and collect order numbers from my guests THEN market America could attempt to find out what happened to the orders...ummm what? It's a gift registry hosted by shop.com, why can't they see orders that were placed? That's a terrible system and they should not offer this service.
I spoke to several reps who were all as equally unable to assist as the last. Very upsetting and just plain wrong and unhelpful.
Stay away from Market America
Typical MLM. I was sold by the biggest scammer of them all, Dani Canubas.
They don't tell you the fine details and you end up just trying to recruit people to make money and your auto buy just keeps increasing. Products are decent but the way they have it set up, you will lose money. If you try to do things a different way like just focus on the products, they will NOT support you and you will fail. I was active and had a number of people on both my left and right side, received 2 $300 checks but that was it.
If someone doesn't do their FORM 1000, you lose all BV. IBV is near impossible to achieve. You have to recruit all the time and basically be very vague to get people in. That to me is a scam.
We have all left and I'm just mad at myself for going against my gut.

Nonsensical Requirements
When I joined into the Market America, I did not know my Executive Coordinator forced me to enroll for $399 for the starter kit, which it's useless. Also, I did not know the qualifications to run a business, so the ticket costs $30+ for local events, $100+ for regional events, and $500+ for international events, which were costly for the useless presentation.
For starters, the business owner required them to spend over $100 on products and $20 for unless fees, which was why markets are not helpful in saving money. As I conduct a meeting from my friends, the promises of making money turn upside-down. These extravagant expenses take up from my checking account, which was why I need to stay away from the firm forever. When I was at the Core Training with my Executive Coordinator, the training was so intense I obliged to quit Market America because this training takes a lot of time and effort.
The events too, are very sensitive, getting more irrelevant people and friends into the business that are the lack of compassion, dignity, and capacity. They then force them to gather more than 300 people to own the business a week, which is nonsensical. Don't they have many friends than people who are socially but under 300 friends they met in a week so why they want to invite unrelated people into the business? I mean, this is Pyramid Scheme because the number of individuals is growing rapidly, getting more people for money granted for nothing but to make purchases and sell tickets to the minimum people to join events.
Despite on these criticisms, Market America was not the only one that forces you or your friends into the business with an expensive training but also the cost of events were costly, ranging from $1000+ plus travel and airfare. To continue the business, they require upbringing over 150,000 dollars in spending than incomes, not even extra revenue, and compassion, which wastes time and efforts. In outcome, the requirements for moving up into the level are extremely time-consuming and wastes a lot of money for nothing. The conditions are very nonsensical because no one will spend over $300,000 when reaching to the top-level, especially when people were taking their money by paying for the service.
Regrettably, a lot of users ended up in severe debts in the bank accounts, so they are no guarantee to get their money back, so they decided to quit Market America forever. I did finally cancel my account.

John Oliver did a great job exposing these hucksters. Not sure how these market America slimeballs sleep at night.
