I have lost thousands of my hard-earned money to Market America for its worthless training materials, yearly and monthly fees, and expensive products I do not need at all. I want to warn all of you innocent working-poor people that Market America is a Ponzi scheme!

It pays their "sales" people with subsequent "sales" people's payments. You can never get paid till you have about 300 - 500 followers. The "sales" is a sham because all the members are forced to buy their products worth of fix-amount of money every month. The money is taken from your bank account every month.

You are not allowed to quit. I have to cancel my bank account to do it. I met some "very friendly" Chinese. These people helped me at first, took me to a "lecture" in a private home, and collectively persuaded me to join in their "sales team." They lied to me that they had earned a lot of money in a few months with a little investment.

As a matter fact, they use Market America as a tax shelter to lower their husbands' income taxes. All their expenses for the "sales" team are covered by their extra tax return money.

But you poor people do not have that kind of luxury income for the tax shelter money. They steal money from other tax payers.

Monetary Loss: $1500.

Location: Sacramento, California

This person clearly did not put any amount of effort into building this business and is jaded to believe that doing the bare minimum will make you successful in any business endeavor. Best of luck to this poor soul whose work ethic is sub par to say the least.

Forced to buy products you are using daily in life? How is that a sham?

or a ponzi scheme? I suggest that you are a failure, and that you probably make excuses for everything that doesn't work out in life. It's too bad you feel the need to try and ruin other people's dreams by posting such b.s.

Good luck in anything you do in life!

I've found Market America as a company and the products that they distribute to be of high standard and excellent quallity. I've been a customer for over 10 years.

You didn't work. Period, end of story.

I've met plenty of people just like you before. They claim they worked, they claim they've done all sorts of things but nope...they lie. In addition, your numbers are completely wrong and if you had gone to a training and paid attention you would know that. Don't steal someone else's dream because you couldn't cut it because you refused to actually do the work necessary to be a success.

Also, any educated person knows what a Ponzi scheme is and Market America is the farthest thing from a Ponzi scheme.

In addition, it is extremely easy to quit... perhaps you are confused and tried to start a business with another company because nothing you have described sounds anything like Market America.

I read the above account. I find their statements to be completely unfounded.

The 300 to 500 csr base is far far exaggerated. A csr base is necessary, a product is being sold. This is the world of direct sales, some people just can't do it. Doesn't make them bad people just bad salespeople.

What makes it bad is to give a complete bad untrue review if the fault lied with the sales person not the company. Not everyone likes Ben and Jerry,s ice cream. Even though most do, there are a few who don't like it. It's not because Ben and Jerry's a bad product.

Some people just don't like it or maybe they are lactose intolerant. Sounds like to me they couldn't handle that type of work. To referr to it as a Ponzi scheme just proves they don't know the meaning of Ponzi scheme, which by the way is illegal.

Market America has the best rating through better business bureau. So people don't take someone's opinion and let it stop you

Hi, im sorry to hear about your lost.

However i'd like to correct you that MA does allow anyone to quit at any time.

To me it sounds like your mentor didn't do a very good job at teach you the basic skills needed to build the business.

Ma is a legit company that started in 1992. For it the be a scheme it wouldn't have lasted so long.

However people do misunderstand Ma to be a pyramid or MLM type of business. The truth is Ma is a entirely new concept utilizing the franchise method, not MLM or Pyramid.

There are people in the business with a MLM background from other companies that utilize that strategy in building their business, which can sound very much like a scheme. People who have been sponsored in those teams, i would find unlucky.

Another person who joined blindly before doing his or her homework, and is now blaming the company for his/her failure.

This sentence is a flat-out lie: "You can never get paid till you have about 300 - 500 followers".

You earn commissions after you have recruited someone on your left and someone on your right.

Two people, not 300-500.

Another person who has very few facts but all these big opinions.

Hey jones, He is exaggerating but he is not lying. Yes, you can get paid when you have talked two people into believing they will get paid, but the measly $300 check you might get once or twice a year when you have only two people does not go very far to cover all of the expenses this company delights in forcing distributors to engage in (or else they won't get paid.) Once you get to executive coordinator you get to spend approximately $300 PER MONTH just for the chance to continue to get that elusive check.

Never mind all of the stories of how people "missed a check" because either they or someone in their down-line missed a deadline of making a purchase each month or filing some *** form Market America made up that helps them get away with NOT PAYING PEOPLE FOR THE WORK THEY HAVE ALREADY PERFORMED ON BEHALF OF THE COMPANY. Try this jones - Tweet this question: How many Market America dist have missed at least one check?

See what you get. Tiresome and abusive is this company, I'd have to say.

To be honest, arguing with anything ^^^ just referenced above or any of the other negative comments is just a waste of time. They are the people that 1) are upset because they didn't have the grit, tenacity or hustle to do it for themselves, 2) cynical because they know others can be successful with this and they are jealous they can't/don't want to actually try, and 3) will be the same people who use the same outdated complaints years from now when they are sitting at their dead end jobs while the people who chose to ignore their stupidity are living the life of their dreams because we decided to work smarter not harder.

Best of luck to all of the positive business owners within MA that don't let the close minded negative people in the world kill their hustle.

Also, best of luck to all the negative cynical people who most likely tried MA for a week and asked themselves "why am I not a millionaire yet?" and then feel the need to rant online to an open abyss of other negative digital readers who find comfort in the solace of each others welcoming, incorrect arms. Its easy to complain when you are surrounded by a group of other miserable people, but it gets harder when you're surrounded by people actually killing the game.

There is a lot of talk, from many that I see on here, that only talk about how ma “gets people to sign up and that it doesn’t work afterwards”. I’ve always understood ma to be about selling product to the end consumer but somehow forgot because of “signing people up!” Their motto was “built on product!

Powered by people!” With that being said, “signing people on” isn’t their main focus. People power the business solely through product sells. Those “people” are actually the 3-4 million customers buying ma products who aren’t signed up for business. Bottom line guys....is that I hear many complaints about getting people in and it not working!

I don’t hear too many complaints about selling product and the product not working. So I believe people who start this business should focus more on moving product first. Business partners and success with it will come afterward. I myself was in ma for a few years and failed.

Ma didn’t fail me, I failed it by focusing on “getting people” and not focusing moving product which was taught to me from a ma sponsor who wasn’t well educated about how ma works. When I actually listened to our mp3 we get when we sign up and jr talks, I realized that I was taught the wrong way to do business. This was after the fact I was 2 years deep! These higher ups talk about moving product not signing up people.

We do lose focus about what the initial goal is with this business, thus fail. Move product and business partners will come I believe. I unfortunately had this backwards mindset that kept me from making money. It’s very damaging and hard to start over when damage to your rep and family has been done but I’m looking to get back with ma now with this new focus I now understand!

It’s truly about moving product and if you only think about signing people on, you will lose.

Push product and the customers and business partners will show face. Good luck to everyone in and out of Market America!
